This page is for those who would like to know a little bit about who this guy who is on the home page. Maybe you have never heard of Chuck McConnell.

If I were visiting a web site of an artist I would want to know the heart of the one who wrote the songs first, and then what his relationship to God and others was. That is the information I am going to attempt to lay out in these paragraphs.

I got saved very early as a young boy, but it wasn't until I was a young teen that I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit (for those who are not familiar with that term lets call it a "spiritually deepening experience") I fell in love with God and began a life of change. I would search the scriptures (the bible) to see what God would speak to me next. It was a very exciting time learning about our Father (God). A friend and I would get together for prayer and discussion of the bible and basically friendship and we would write songs and play our guitars for hours at a time. A friend of ours would take us with him to play in coffee houses and share. We loved it! Life was good!

Skipping ahead a few years, and if you read my bio you may have questions about some things in it.

I loved God dearly and sought to follow Him with all my heart but, as with many, we lean toward the law like the Galations must have done. I got married and was in a good church to begin with, but over time we seemed to drift toward control and legalism. Don't get me wrong, not everything was bad but just like leaven in bread it got mixed with the good and turned out bad. God was extremely merciful and delivered me and many others when we decided to cease to exist as a church.  We (my wife and kids and I) began to look for a church to call home again. If anyone has ever had to do that you know that it is like trying to find a marriage partner, you want to find the one God has for you, that fits you and you fit it. Something I failed to mention was that through these years of being in this-what became a toxic group- I lost my love for playing the guitar and had not written a song in many years. But then we found a place where God poured out His grace in my family's life. I was totally oblivious to the hardness of heart that had developed in me. The cynic, hard person that I had become came into the light. Have you ever sat on a sunny day and the sunshine felt so warm that you just wanted to sit and soak it up? That is what happened on the inside of my wife and I. We began a healing process that took some time which included repentance, forgiveness, and acceptance of God's grace. Speaking of that grace, as you can tell by the album title, that got underscored in my life in a big way! I truly don't think that I understood God's grace until this all took place. Though in some ways I wished I had never gone through some of the early experiences, I can say that in many ways it has taught me more about who God really is and how much He really does love all His people! I think I mentioned in my bio that in the last few years I have begun writing again and feel a renewed sense of passion for God.

I am now the praise and worship leader at my church in Eagletown, IN. I bet you have no idea where that is even if you live in Indiana. Let's just say west of Westfield.  The church is called "Church of Praise" and we are a small but God loving bunch. Many of the songs that I have written were for introducing new material to our worship team.

I hope that if you read this far that if you are ever in question of God's great love and care for you that you would take the time to find someone who has experienced it and let them tell you the wonder of both knowing and loving the Lord of All Creation. If you have never even heard about a personal God before, then you haven't heard the gospel. There are many church goers that still haven't heard the gospel yet. God is in the business of setting people free today and I believe He is positioned right now to bring a big renewing work to those who are hungry.  Are you hungry? I know I am. Lord bring it!!!

On a totally different note, my real job is being the owner of McConnell Plumbing, Heating, & Air Conditioning. McConnell as in my name. I started this company almost 11 years ago. I have 5 employees and we do what our name says as well as a lot of underground work, directional boring, trenching, and utility marking. We seek to be the best at all we do.

I think that is about all I can think of at this time, but I would like to update and add or maybe subtract from time to time, but I guess it's all right since it is my web site. God bless you for taking time to read about some guy you don't even know. Though you don't know me please take time to get to know God and His heart I know you will love it!!!

Thanks again for being interested in a boy from Indiana.
